Hi Everyone!

This was my workout for tonight. I was planning on repeating the workout, but I ran into a bit of a time crunch so I went through it once, and ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill. I hadn't run since last week, and I have missed it. It felt great to get going. It took me 23 minutes, and 24 seconds to finish the run and it felt like a comfortable pace.

I got to wear another new workout outfit from Affitnity, and I am still in love with their products. I gave it the double test to see how it held up to a workout and a run, and I was comfortable the entire time! I saw the shorts on the cover of Fitness Magazine, and fell in love with the bright colors and cut.

Tomorrow I will be sharing a recipe for a post-workout smoothie. It's delicious and high in protein.

Also, thank you to everyone who has been sharing their personal progress stories with me. It is such a huge motivation to me, and each story brings such a huge smile to my face. I truly love it!

I hope you guys enjoy the workout!
Melissa

  5. Your workouts have been helpful. I did my last ironman, got mono, discovered how much I love to cook and how much I love to play my guitar, AND turned 40, two years ago--a perfect storm. Getting back in shape is TOUGH.

    1. Bend your arms at a 90° angle so your forearm is on the ground

    2. If you focus on spreading your fingers your wrists take less of the weight.

  8. I am struggling to get in shape after having a baby..I am 140 lbs and 5'9" I know I am not overweight but I have big hips and a booty that I need to tone up. My biggest problem is that I don't seem to have the energy to get a morning workout..I have no clue what to eat before a morning workout so I have energy to do it and keep going through the day.

    2. I'm a fan of granola for morning workouts. Add a little apple juice and eat it like cereal. It's one of the few things that gives me energy and doesn't hurt my stomach to run on.

  10. Melissa, thank you for this. I have been working out hard using your workouts and others on YouTube all at home. I have been getting closer each month to a total fit belly area but the baby skin is hard to tone! It is getting there, but I needed something like this to attack the areas. To all the moms, I know it is a struggle to "get up", but you need to just do it. Once you start, you can not stop. I involve my kids, we do dance (our own style) cardio since we live in Alaska, indoors for the time being, and we jump rope together. I just get up, chug water, and put on whatever workout is up. I used to get up and drink coffee, but that slows me down now. Then my kids wake up, and we eat. I highly encourage everyone to do Melissas workouts, they work!! Best of all it is mostly your own body weight, and you can write the workout down and take it with you :D I believe in you all! xxx

  11. I love a good work out, but it seems like I only get bigger muscles and tighter jeans. The last time I did the insanity program I worked really hard and those were my results once again. Is there any way for me to modify my workouts or tips you might have to keep this from happening to me?

  12. This workout was great love how intense it gets at times, april is my abs month so I'm making my core and abs workout a priority. I have learned if I do what I really need to focus on before cardio them I see results. Some days if I do cardio first I get a little tired and fatigue to finish my focus areas. I also love that you are smiling during your workout and you look great keep up the good work:-)

  13. Mums! You should check to see if u suffer from Diastasis Recti before doing some of these exercises!! It is a separation of the stomach muscles after pregnancy and some of these exercises will make your tummy look bigger and do more damage than good!! I wish someone had told me of this 10 years ago after I had my twins!!! Just saying look into it first!!

  19. Hi Melissa!!!
Thank u for all your workout. I run 3X a week for about 45 minutes to 1hr and then I do some abs, legs, arms & butt workouts. However, I do not know if I'm doing the right thing. Should I do the workout first & then do the Cardio or do 45 minutes of cardio then the workouts? Please help me here! I'm looking for a better way to have better results because I want to increase muscle. Thank you Melissa for all your time.

    1. Personally I like switching it up and doing it both ways. When I do the workouts first I feel that I run faster and harder without realizing the additional effort (until I see my times afterward) because my body is warmed up and used to working hard already. When I run first I know that I am really working on strength and endurance. I would alternate days. :)
